Top 7 Reasons to Join TGCPAA

    Bi-Monthly Meetings

TGCPAA members have an opportunity to meet the 3rd Tuesday of February, April, June, August, October, and the 2nd Tuesday of December. Category II CME is generally incorporated into these meetings via a product theater in conjunction with a brief business meeting that reflects the ongoing changes and growth of TGCPAA.  In addition, in 2017 we started a special Category I CME Series in the Fall and Spring (subject to an additional fee) to increase your opportunity for inexpensive Category I CME.

    CME Conference

TGCPAA hosted a one-day CME Symposium in April 2016 & 2017.  The symposium's were a huge success and TGCPAA will be hosting our first 2-day Conference event in April 2019.  The CME Conference is an excellent way to get additional CME hours, while not taking up your entire weekend. “This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 22 AAPA Category 1 CME credits from the AAPA Review Panel. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined.”

    Professional Development

TGCPAA will help keep you up-to-date on changes in the legislature and scope of practice modifications for PAs practicing in Texas.   In addition, you will have first-hand access to employment opportunities in the greater Houston area, not only on our new and improved website, but also at our bi-monthly meetings.

    Social Networking

TGCPAA is an excellent way to network with local PAs throughout the greater Houston area.   Please connect with us on Facebook and Instagram and learn about upcoming events. TGCPAA also hosts multiple social events throughout the year and members are welcome to participate.

    Leadership Opportunities

Are you interested in becoming a PA leader? If so, we have several opportunities to get involved.   Multiple committee chair and member positions are available every year. Maybe you are interested in running for office? The Board of Directors may be just what you are looking for. These unique positions are integral to the ongoing growth of TGCPAA, but also teach a variety of leadership skills that are invaluable for your professional success.

    Serve Houston

TGCPAA is proud to be involved in service to the Houston community. We have participated in several philanthropic endeavors including: Habitat for Humanity, Healthcare for the Homeless, Project Cure, and the Houston Food Bank.   TGCPAA members enjoy giving back to our community while letting our city know that PAs are an essential part of the healthcare team.

    Finally

TGCPAA can be educational and exciting, but most of all, we have fun together. Please join us by visiting www.tgcpaa.org to become a member. We look forward to getting to know you and growing as PAs together.
