    Kristen Robinson, PA-C

    Kristen received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University in 2008.  She went on to work in a microbiology lab for one year prior to pursuing her graduate degree.  Then she attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston receiving her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies in 2012.  After graduation, she joined the Surgical Oncology department at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she has a primary focus in the inpatient care of patients with Gastric and Peritoneal Surface Malignancies.

    Christine graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care. She went on to work for a year as a respiratory therapist at North Cypress Medical Center before she knew she had to go back to her alma mater and graduate with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2013. Christine went on to begin working at MD Anderson in the Department of Leukemia as an inpatient PA for about a year and a half before transferring to the department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

    Christine has been an assistant instructor for suture workshops for the UTMB PA program, Baylor PA program, TAPA, and TGCPAA since 2016. She also volunteers for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Health Committee since 2016. Christine has been a member of TCGPAA since 2016 and is currently a committee member of the publicity committee.

    Rachael Strom, PA-C

    Rachael Strom graduated from Texas A&M University in 2015 with a Bachelor in Science in Allied Health.  She went on to work for a year in sleep medicine severing as a durable medical equipment representative prior to pursuing her master's degree.  She then went on to attend University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and graduated with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2018.  Following graduation, she took a job with Synergy Radiology working in the Interventional Radiology Department at Memorial Hermann Southeast and Pearland; her primary focus is in interventional oncology with liver directed therapies.  

    Rachael also serves as a volunteer at CASA El Buen Samaritano Clinic.  She became a TGCPAA member while she was a PA student, and she is now serving as the Membership Chair.

    Publicity Committee Chair


    Thuy Nguyen, PA-C

    Thuy completed her undergraduate studies at LSU in Baton Rouge with a degree in Information Systems and Decision Science.  She went on to work for an environmental engineering group for 3 years in Atlanta, GA before deciding to pursue a career as a PA. She completed her Physician Assistant studies at Long Island Univeristy- Brooklyn campus in 2010.  During her clinical year of PA school, she traveled to Haiti on a medical mission group for relief efforts following the Haiti earthquake of 2010. She then relocated to Houston, Texas after graduation and has since been an employee at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery department.  She has been a member of TGCPAA since 2011 and previously served as Professional Development Chair.  She currently also serves as PR chair for TAPA (Texas Academy of Physician Assistants) and is an NCCPA Ambassador.  She recently was recognized as a finalist for the MD Anderson 2019 PA Excellence Award.

    Nina (Carolina) Gomez, PA-C

    Nina graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. She took two years off and worked in the Office of Biostatistics at UTMB Galveston working with the Clinical Translational Research Center. She then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch Physician Assistant Studies Program, graduating in 2013. Shortly after, she moved to Houston to begin working at MD Anderson in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, in the section of Ophthalmology, with primary focus in Oculoplastics.

    Kelsey graduated from Texas A&M University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information and Operations Management. She went on to work in Production Planning and Control for an Aerospace and Defense company for 2 years before deciding to pursue a career as a PA. She completed her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at University of Texas Medical Branch in 2018. After graduation, she began working as orthopedic surgical PA at Fondren Orthopedic Group in Baytown, Texas.

    Yue completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Statistics at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. She received Master of Science degrees doing research in speech perception at University of Wisconsin-Madison and Purdue University-West Lafayette before she switched to the PA career. She is currently in her clinical phase at Baylor College of Medicine. After being a student member of TGCPAA for a year, she was elected the student liaison of Baylor College of Medicine.

    John Patrick Cuenca, PA-S

    John graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors and Biology. Since then, he has worked as a healthcare consultant for McKesson Health Solutions, ECG Management Consultants, and TeleTracking Technologies. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University Commerce.

    John is currently in his didactic year at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. When he’s not studying, John enjoys taking photos, cooking, traveling, and woodworking.

    Tushar Patel, PA-S

    Tushar received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Kentucky in 2011. Since then, he worked in the technology and healthcare sector for several years before deciding to pursue a career as a PA. Tushar is nearing the end of his clinical phase at Baylor College of Medicine and looking forward to his graduation. He also serves as a volunteer at San Jose Clinic. In his free time, he likes to run outdoors and catch up on movies and TV shows.
