Biography
Melissa completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science with a minor in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2010. She went on to receive her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from University of Texas Medical Branch in 2013. Melissa began her PA career at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery where she worked in the Houston Area Locations (Memorial City, Katy & Sugar Land) from 2014 until 2017. She worked for Texas Children's Hospital in the Woodlands in Pediatric General Surgery in 2017 prior to returning to MD Anderson Cancer Center where she currently works in the Plastic/Reconstructive Department. Melissa is active with the UTMB PA program coordinating and assisting in their quarterly Surgical Boot camps and annual suturing labs. She has also participated in Baylor PA program and TAPA suture workshops. She has served on the TAPA Membership Committee for the past several years. Melissa has been a member of TGCPAA since 2014.
